Winter Wanderer
Bohemian Waxwings are a winter visitor here in the UK, and this was painted following a huge flock that was seen in North Wales in early 2024. As a hobby birdwatcher, the sighting excited me for the rest of the year! I wanted to create my signature super soft blended background whilst still keeping the frosty atmosphere in the pastel image. The bird's themselves have a really delicate blend to their feathers, with some stunning colours, which I thoroughly enjoyed recreating in pastel.
