See My Soul

See My Soul depicts a critically endangered Western Chimpanzee. Painted as a full dramatic close up portrait, to bring the attention straight to the eyes, allowing the viewer to connect with a species which is so heavily related to ourselves, and yet has been pushed to the brink of extinction. I purposely wanted this to be a very dark portrait, with only the central features being a main focus point, with a pop of colour in the iris'.
