G Riley
This is a painting of my grandfather - George Riley. The old family photo was taken by my grandmother Mabel Riley, circa 1960. The complete photo includes me at about age 4. I was my grandfather's little side kick for many years. My goal was to captured his calm and gentle nature. I do not have written permission from my deceased grandmother to use this photo, but she was very supportive of my artistic aspirations. I have no doubt that she would have given me permission to use any of the many photographs she took with her little Brownie box camera.
