Contemplation - A self portrait

Soft pastels on Pastelmat. I blocked in the basic shapes and values with the pastels paying attention to value and temperatures as I had cool light from the window and warm light from inside the house. I used pastels pencils to blend and add details, This self portrait was created during a very tumultuous time in my life. I wanted to have that emotional time depicted in my eyes.
