My first effort at capturing the Wasatch mountains, just outside of Salt Lake City, UT. As a very new part-time resident, the fall colour left me awestruck. I loved using soft pastels so I could work rapidly and not over-study the scene, just try to capture the expanse of space along with the color. I did small sketches along the trail, but completed the large work at home.
