At the Cafe

Pastel, vine charcoal and watercolor underpainting. There is the obvious emotional connection between myself and the person in the painting. The additional interest in this painting, is that for the viewer there is almost three planes in the painting. The wall behind ,the people sitting at the tables, and the subject sitting in front. The other interesting aspect was incorporating three different stylistic treatments and yet to me the painting remains unified.
