I can't see him anymore
This particular work is depicting the loss of my brother. He died suddenly a few months ago and due to us living in different states, me in Alaska, and he in P.A, I was unable to see him for the time leading up too and after his death. I could not afford to fly to Philly twice, for his death and for his memorial. So I could only got to his memorial. All I heard was how he was in a better place, and this or that, but for me, I can see his face anymore in my mind, and sadly never will again. I drew this all on the board with no sketch. I first used pastel pencil for an outline, then used paper towel to blended this into the background. I then blocked in colors in areas I wished to use, then used alcohol on brush to line in areas I wanted to work more with a blacks and pencils. I used Blue earths on mainly the whole thing with a mix of pastel pencils such as Derwin and generals and richeson grey. I did this all on a masonite board that I cut and repaired myself using art spectrums primer.
